Gray Whales Count
Gray Whales Count
Day 29
Tuesday, March 17, 2015
This little whale was traveling alone. To make sure he or she made the Count, she breached. Then on the next surface he gave us a sly grin and was off again to Alaska.
This young one was leading nineteen other whales past us in the afternoon in groups of 4, 4, 1, 2, 5, and 3, plus the lone breacher makes twenty, which brought us to 29, once again.
We got great looks at our dolphin triad: Common, Pacific White-sided, and Bottlenose. We saw breaching at the horizon that was likely a Humpback whale, but we did not get a good look of anything except the huge splash.
We did find a Harbor seal as well.
