Gray Whales Count
Gray Whales Count
Day 60
Friday, April 17, 2015
Perhaps with an encouraging nudge from Mom, her calf (our only calf of the day) spied the Counters on the Point and gave them a Gray-whale smile. Crazy fun!
The weather was again warm with not much wind. Bottlenose dolphins took their tun on stage. They popped up all over the place for the majority of the day. Nice. Although we have seen Bottlenose on most days, we have not seen very many. Today we did.
We also saw some Commons, but no Lags today.
There were at least three Harbor seals around the Point on a fundraising day for Santa Barbara Audubon members who team up in an effort to find the most species. Too bad they couldn’t include pinnipeds and cetaceans. We are happy to share.
