Happy Earth Day, everyone!
Just to further demonstrate that our world is big and full of surprises, a Ring-necked Pheasant strolled behind us in the Coal Oil Point Reserve.
In front of us, we saw two more northbound Gray whale Cow/calf pairs. One was leisurely while the other pair looked like it was late for a very important date.
We also saw Bottlenose dolphin calves, but Common and Pacific White-sided dolphins did not come within our range today. Our Harbor seals were resting in the kelp on this Santa Barbara Earth Day.
