One of the last images of the day shows two pairs of a one plus two pair group of northbound Gray whales mothers and calves making their way past Counter Point and through the late afternoon glare towards Point Conception.

The group of six brought our total on the day to twenty whales, including nine calves. There were two sightings of single, not-calf-associated whales.

Our only dolphins were Commons and they were charging hard with many birds diving through the splashes. And, there was a Harbor seal, relaxing, not splashing at all.
