Slow as whales in May.

Towards the end of a two hour plus sighting, two northbound Gray whale pairs assembled for their group portrait after passing Counter Point. It was spellbinding. They spent about 45 minutes playing inside Campus Point and the rest of the time enjoying the ride west. It was a Cinco de Mayo parade for these Mexican born whales. We were honored to spend so much time with them as we documented their progress through the Santa Barbara Channel.

They were magnificent.

We counted eleven Cow/calf pairs on this slightly extended day. Why not stretch it out?
