In the late afternoon, our last of eight pairs on the day slips quietly past Counter Point, close, inside the kelp.

We were nada for the morning and 16 whales from 1 to 5!

And, we heard a report of 4 pairs off the Santa Barbara Lighthouse at 4. Those whales will pass by well into the evening, and we bid them well.

It seems the calves are continuing in pulses, which is one of the things Gray whales do much of the time. We are just happy they are continuing ...
