It was a different day at Counter Point. We held off the rain until just past our half-day and added half as many northbound Gray whales as the day before. Our third whale was a young bundle of energy, breaching at least ten times. OK, some breachers were a bit smaller than full-breaches ... Even so, spectacular!

And, a Counter noticed something very interesting: we saw no breaches approaching Counter Point, and we saw none after the young whale had passed. It was all for us! Why not?

There was a trio of southbound Gray whales that passed just outside the kelp. They seemed to be chasing some Bottlenose dolphins.

We are sorry we could not Count a full day, but are glad we are getting at least some rain.
