Gray Whales Count

Day 32

Friday, March 18, 2016

In the zone, one of our two Sea otters on the day is either trying to catch a wave of wi-fi or he has a lobster in his clutches ...

The general migration was slow for us today, and of course, there was an interesting twist. In addition to fourteen northbound Gray whales, we saw a southbound pair a bit out of sync or, perhaps concentrating on other things, socializing their way to Mexico.

There were three Harbor seals relaxing in the IV kelp this morning, and Lags spent the day with us. At least forty here, there, and there and there, usually with California Sea lions in the mix. A small group of Bottlenose seemed to ignore the other dolphins.
