We carved out an hour amidst rain, low clouds, and some wind. Unfortunately, for the next two days, we are expecting worse observation quality ...

Today, we saw four groups of whales. One was a pair of Humpbacks; three were northbound Gray whales; and, we were able to see that there were at least two whales in the second and third group of Gray whales. It was not good visibility, and there was a very large swell complicating everything.

We checked for otters and we were unable to for-certain spot one. There was a momentary maybe in the IV kelp, but maybe isn’t an otter.

We did not see anything else except a mess of ocean.
