Just outside the kelp, mom heralds the arrival of her calf — for the first time — at Counter Point. Quite a sight.

Today, three Cow/calf pairs were shuffled with two general-migration pairs. Soon, maybe a week away, almost all the sightings of whales will be mothers with calves. And, we hope there are lots of pairs.

Two otters, a Harbor seal, some very active Bottlenose dolphins, and always active Common dolphins filled out our cast of characters.
